Vanity Fair 1960s Ice Blue Pleated Nylon Chiffon Nightgown (S–M)
$168.00
Vintage Vanity Fair 1960s ice blue pleated nylon chiffon nightgown
A beautifully constructed Vanity Fair nightgown dating to the transition between the late 1950s and early 1960s, rendered in a soft ice blue tone with an airy, romantic silhouette. The front is crafted from finely pleated sheer nylon chiffon, while the back is made from silky nylon tricot, creating a graceful contrast in texture, softness, and movement.
Features dramatic pleated ruffle sleeves softly framing the neckline and shoulders, with flowing vertical pleats through the bust and skirt that create elegant movement and an elongated silhouette. The lightweight chiffon overlay gives the piece a delicate sheer quality, especially through the pleated areas and hem. Attached satin ribbon ties at both sides of the waist allow the fit to be softly adjusted and cinched.
The original brand and size tags have been removed, though the construction, materials, and matching documented examples confirm this piece to be Vanity Fair. A surviving example of the same design with an intact Vanity Fair label and style number further supports dating this piece to the late 1950s to early 1960s period.
An exceptionally elegant example of mid-century American lingerie design with delicate movement and couture-like detailing rarely seen in modern garments.
